In Spring of 2004, to explore FileMaker 7, I rewrote the entire NY side of the DCC system from scratch as a single-file 13-table FileMaker 7 solution. (Due to the ongoing use of MacOS 9 on many machines at DCC, this was not a version that was actually used. FileMaker 6 is the last version of FileMaker to run under MacOS 9). I also converted some existing solutions from FileMaker 6 to 7, verifying / repairing file references as need be. FileMaker 7 offered the ability to separate data from the majority of structure (one can have all the screens and scripts in a file separate from the file containing the data tables) as well as some impressive and convenient new function calls.
