Button Scripts -- In FileMaker 6, you needed a different script to handle even minor variations on desired behavior. In FileMaker 8, you can pass along a script parameter attached to the actual button, so a single script in FileMaker 8 can do the work of a whole raft of scripts in FileMaker 6. In this illustration, personnel are divided up into departments, and each person has a button that brings up their tasklist. The buttons do identical things except for the relationship that separated personnel by department. In FileMaker 6, a separate script was needed for each department (see illustration on left); in FileMaker 8, one suffices.
