Robin Morgan, The Anatomy of Freedom (Random House)
1982
Morgan developed in the first set of chapters the concept of men versus
the social construct Man, of women versus the social construct Woman. Morgan
emphasizes that, whereas men believe the myths of Man, women know and have
always known, with an amused contempt, that they were not Woman; that women
in patriarchy quietly tolerate ludicrous dogma that they do not accept.
Because the world is run by men, the official thinking of society enshrines
an orthodoxy which women, as a distinct philosophical underground, secretly
and irreverently laugh at.
